Here we will show you how you can build LED Floor Tiling DIY. Cheap, easy and professional with spare parts from elektric-junkys.com
You can change accessories like PCBA color or PVC cover, and more. For this project we use an LPD6809 LED chip system with an ordinary 120 program controller, the kit is available in our store. Of course, there is the possibility that the WS2811/WS2812b or WS2801/WS2802 could control multiple areas in a nightclub, bar or club. We are using here a robust PVC, easy to assemble and cut, nice appearance, 30% milky and 75% milky, it depends if you want to see the pixels more or less clear!
To begin this project, prepare your assembly parts and tools. Make sure your floor is completely “level” and test it with your aluminum spirit level of at least 2000mm in length, depending on the work area.
If your Floor is crooked and not straight prepare it with “leveling ground” add the lev. ground to a bowl add water and mix it the mass should be a mix of fluid and thick, just tip out the fluid on the floor, remember it should flow in all the crooked and broken floor areas close holes and slices. !
Then Let it Dry for at Least 10hrs depending on your thickness… normally we say DRYOUT TIME per cm (10mm) a Week!
Make sure the floor is completely FLAT. After the leveling filler do a “Light Sanding”; Use scraper paper to remove any irregularities. After the floor is dry, completely leveled and striped, ready to tile, use a paint roll and apply the grounding fluid like we did in the video… let it dry again for 1 day.
After these days, everything should be dry, flat, smooth and straight! So let’s think about the coordination of the Alutracks.
So we mixed the tile adhesive with the mixing paddle, if you don’t have one you can use your big ladle to mix it, add the water to a bowl and then add the powder. Follow this instruction exactly, FIRST THE WATER, THEN THE DUST! Use the Dental Spatula to apply the adhesive to the Floor (4:12 min)
Apply adhesive to an area approximately “a little larger” than 3 full tiles. !
Add one tile after another, relax, think-look-check slowly. Don’t forget the tile crosses to keep the symmetrical line and straightness, depending on the desired interstice, you should use specific tile crosses or 1-2-3-4-5mm wood replacements according to your wishes.
Pat the tiles carefully down in the “XYZ” position in all directions use the spirit level in the X and Y directions. After you have placed all the tiles with the tracks, let it sit again for at least 24 hours.
After your floor is completely dry and you can walk on it, ideally at least 48 hours. We can begin the process of grouting tiles, follow our best tips for grouting tiles.
How to grout tiles?
Easy enough, just mix the tile grout material with water “again” first add the water to a container, then add the tile grout powder and mix with your paddle mixing machine.
Make sure the mixture is the consistency of mashed potatoes or puree. Massage it well into the tile joints!
Now we come to the LED lighting section:
After placing all the tiles and Alutracks in position, clean the tracks and remove all irregularities.
Use Double sided Self-adhesive Tape from elektric-junkys.com, or buy LED Strips from us which have the Adhesive already on the LED Lights Assembled.. Please check that before!
So Let´s Think again … “LED Variation, and formation” Power consumption, Power Placement Area, Controller Placement area!
We were using about 4PCS > 3 Meters lines as you can see in the Video.
